york-connect

UNDER REVISION

This network is for devices unable to connect to eduroam. If you haven't already, please try eduroam first.

Depending whether your device has an internet browser, proceed to the appropriate step below.

With Browser

  • Connect to york-connect.
  • If you weren't already redirected to the York College Network page,
    • Open an internet browser & try to visit a new webpage.
      • You'll then be redirected.
  • Select the Connecting with another device icon.
  • Read the notice then select I understand.
  • Enter your YCP email address & password.
  • Accept the Terms of Use.
  • Select Log In.
    • Wait for the loading bar to finish; it may take several minutes.
  • When successfully connected, you'll be directed to www.ycp.edu.

Without Browser

On a computer currently connected to the YCP network (or a YCP computer),

  • Visit clearpass.ycp.edu.
    • If prompted, sign in.
  • On the left, select Create Device.
  • Fill out the form.
    • Here's how to find your device's MAC Address.
      • Format: XX-XX-XX-XX-XX-XX
    • Enabling AirGroup allows you to share this device with your friends.
      • Start typing their name or email, then options will appear.
        • Choose your friends from those options.
  • Select the Create button.
  • Restart the device you just registered, then connect it to york-connect.
    • If unsuccessful, turn it off for 10 minutes, then connect it to york-connect.

Edit/Remove Devices

On a computer currently connected to the YCP network (or a YCP computer),

  • Visit clearpass.ycp.edu.
    • If prompted, sign in.
  • On the left, select Mange Devices.
  • Select a device, then...
    • Select Edit to change the Device Name or AirGroup settings.
      • Then select the Update Device button.
    • Select Remove > Delete account > Make Changes.
      • This is recommended if you no longer have the device.
